Teen veistokset usein hyvin lyhyellä ennakko suunnittelulla. Lopullinen ajatus veistoksen sanomasta ja muodosta tulee veistoksen edetessä. Tällöin veistoksesta tulee mahdollisimman oman näköinen. Tämän vuoden teema antaa paljon mahdollisuuksia ilmaista ajatus ”juuret” kiviveistoksessa.

I often begin my sculptures with very little pre-planning. The final idea of the piece — its message and form — emerges as the work progresses. In this way, the sculpture becomes as true to my own expression as possible.
This year’s theme offers many possibilities for expressing the idea of “roots” in stone sculpture.
